My technical botanical illustrations have been published as part of four taxon descriptions so far: Christopheria xantha, Monardella angustifolia, Potentilla versicolor var. darrachii, and Potentilla hookeriana var. charletii. I also use my art as an outreach medium. In the field, I often pause to make pen-and-ink/watercolor sketches of native plants; the results are scientifically accurate and captioned in detail. By selling notecards and matted prints of the drawings (primarily on Etsy), I bring the beauty and wonder of our shared natural heritage to people who might not otherwise appreciate it.
